Power Supplies, Power Extenders+Repeater

Power supplies

Pepperl+Fuchs power supplies meet PELV requirements

In an AS-Interface network, data is transferred and power is supplied along the same cable. The power supply is a 30 V direct current. An alternating current is modulated onto this direct current as a data carrier. A special power supply with decoupling network is required to supply power to each AS-Interface network. Pepperl+Fuchs offers a comprehensive range of power supplies for a wide variety of applications.

All power supplies manufactured by Pepperl+Fuchs meet PELV requirements. A conductor for the AS-Interface circuit is not required. An additional ground fault monitoring function is integrated in some power supplies to improve system safety.

Repeaters

If you intend to extend the length of cable used in your AS-Interface network to more than 100 m, you can connect an extra 100 m of cable via a repeater. This isolates the networks so you can connect a separate power supply for each network. Several repeaters can be used in each network. A maximum of two repeaters may be operated between the master and the end of the flat cable.

The maximum number of slaves remains 31 or 62. Repeater parameterization is not necessary. A repeater does not occupy an address on the AS-Interface bus.

Power extenders

A power extender gives you the option of using a standard power supply to power an AS-Interface as per AS-Interface specifications. An AS-Interface power extender is a power supply decoupling that supplies power to several circuits using only one power supply. As a result of the data decoupling, a standard mains part with 30 V output voltage in compliance with the AS interface specification can be used instead of an AS interface mains part.

DC power supplies

You can supply power to two AS-Interface networks using a DC power supply combined with our double masters with data decoupling or our power extenders. Various power levels are available depending on your network load.
