Enclosures are thoroughly tested during certification and production process to ensure that an explosion never will come out. The following requirements have to be fulfilled by the enclosures:
- The enclosure has to withstand the explosion pressure without any damage
- Surface temperature must always stay below the ignition temperature of the surrounding atmosphere
- Any flame escaping through the gaps must cool down sufficiently
The pressure test is one of the rigorous examinations which ensures that all of the mentioned requirements are met. Depending on enclosure volume, type of gas, and expected ambient temperatures, explosion reference pressures are determined. Each solution has to withstand these references.
Full certification of enclosure and operators such as switches, indicator lights, and pushbuttons, and the deep knowledge and experience of the project engineers in our Solution Engineering Centers ensure that your equipment will work optimally and your application will be safely protected.
