Transmitter Power Supplies
Transmitter power supplies transfer 4…20 mA signals from standard or SMART transmitters in hazardous areas and supply them with power. They deliver an isolated signal that is proportional to a measured value such as temperature, pressure, or flow from hazardous areas to safe areas.
The power supply and signal are transferred through the same conductors in2-wire transmitters allowing only 4…20 mA signals. SMART transmitter power supplies repeat the transmitter current in addition to a digital signal, which is modulated onto the 4…20 mA signal.
