AS-i Safety Secures Doors
Equipped for the new Machine Directive
AS-i safety secures doors
The AS-i Safety Concept is open for all upstream field buses. All logical dependencies such as trip circuits, stop category, restart and AND/OR relationships can be easily configured via the safety monitor. The narrow (40 mm) locking and latching devices with a sturdy metal head fit perfectly onto every door profile.
The latching devices can also be powered directly from AS-i. They prevent unintentional process interruptions with a holding force of up to 2,500 N. Barely 30 mm long, reed switches with integrated AS-i chip are ideal for cost effective monitoring of small doors and flaps.
In addition to bounce issues with large, heavy doors, the tamper-proof transponder systems also facilitate multiple-door monitoring by connecting up to 4 reading heads to the AS-i with one control and connection unit. Operating modes, such as set-up and maintenance, can be controlled safely using AS-i enabling switches. Even the indicator lamps that signal normal mode, a maintenance prompt, or an interruption can be directly connected to the AS-i. For safety on all fronts.
