PMI360D
Positional feedback sensor on rotary drives
Angle-measuring PMI360D with signaling zones (S0-S2) and/or analog angle signal
Valves are among the most important components in process technology and are available in a huge variety of technical versions and sizes. Monitoring the correct valve setting saves resources. Rotary drives that appropriately adjust the angle of the valve flap to the desired flow amounts are used to control the flow of fluids and gases. The current position of the valve flap is monitored by positional feedback sensors. Simple, binary feedback sensors can display two positions (OPEN and CLOSE).
An angle-measuring analog system such as the PMI360D is capable of precisely measuring the position of the valve flap and thus allows for a much more exact dosage of the medium.
The geometric dimensions of the PMI360D are optimized for standard application in rotary drives. The PMI family provides two different types of application with regard to functions:
- A switching sensor provides the option of 3 taught-in signaling zones (S0-S2). Therefore another preferred position (e.g. valve half-open = 45°) can be retrieved in addition to the positions OPEN and CLOSE.
- The combined switching/measuring PMI provides the option of an exact, angle-proportionate measurement of the current valve position for the higher application type. Moreover, the OPEN and CLOSE limit positions can be fed back to the higher-level process-control system through two separate switching outputs.
