Readers of the magazine A&D (Automation & Drives) have decided: The Best Product Award 2008 goes to VMT Bildverarbeitungssysteme GmbH for their innovations in image processing.
The choice was made from all the products presented during 2008 in the image processing and ident technology category.
The award-winning system solution VMT D/P (Palletization/depalletization) for fully automated "Bin picking" is characterized by its multi-sensor capability. The VMT system provides solutions with higher availability and efficiency.
An example of such an application is the unloading of industrial containers filled with a large number of brake disks in irregular orientation. An extraction strategy and 3-D detection of the items to be picked up are incorporated in the handling system.
